I chose Florida International University because I had heard good stories from other nurses who had attended the university. It was a good experience for me. The faculty was very hands-on and helpful. I was in a small cohort of nurses pursuing a pediatric specialty. This was during the transition when the school was starting to use Blackboard. The staff was helpful in making sure that the students who were not familiar with online classes were transitioned enough to be able to complete their assignments. They were always available through email whenever we needed them. I really felt that the faculty cared about me and wanted to make sure that I completed my master's degree. I became good friends with students in my cohort. We made connections while we worked in hospitals. I felt that we all bonded together in our class. I became more knowledgeable and confident in my own judgment. As a clinician, I felt that I got a good foundational education at Florida International University. I had good clinical skills that I brought to the bedside as a nurse practitioner. The support that I received from other faculty members was very helpful.
