I always wanted to be a medical doctor, and I thought that being a nursing psychiatrist would be similar. After I graduated from FIU Nursing, I started medical school in the Caribbean and graduated as a doctor in medicine. My goal is to come back to FIU Nursing as a nursing professor. FIU is the best school in the world. I feel like I'm at home there. I have a lot of friends, and we help each other. It was a top program - only 21 out of maybe 1,000 graduated from my program. They prepared me very well to face patients. Once I started, I had all of the knowledge. I knew exactly what the diagnoses were and what medication to use.
