Mae Rutherford Chisom

I always wanted to be a nurse since I was in elementary school because I was inspired by my school nurse. I was a nurse's aide, a unit secretary, and an LPN prior to going to FIU. FIU Nursing gave me the opportunity to go to school and work at the same time. I loved the motivation from my professors, and they were very supportive. They really pushed me and made me think, and I appreciated that because it helped me to go further in nursing. FIU Nursing helped me to want to help others, and it helped me get into management.
