My friends had toured FIU and told me how great it was, so I ended up looking at photos and did an online tour. Then I only applied to FIU for my undergraduate degree, and by the goodness of the Lord, I made it in. I worked closely with Trudy Gaillard, and she helped me figure out what to do in my career. When I told her my plan, she was so proud of me. Then that made me realize that I was having an adult conversation with my professor, which was amazing. My most memorable day at FIU was my graduation day. That was a really big day because I knew I was moving away from home, and it was the last time I would see all of my classmates in person. It was quite emotional. I got the opportunity to get out of my shell at FIU Nursing because I went to college away from home, and that really allowed me to grow as a person. Now that I've moved farther away from home I can continue to be myself, be confident in who I am, and make choices based on what I learned in school.
