It was the closest to home, and I heard it was a great program. It was a competitive program as well, and I was glad to get accepted. At the time, they started the new simulator laboratories with the patients. They had a really high-technology program that was developing. I had a very supportive class. If I ever had a question or problem, the teachers were always available and sympathetic through those hard years. Everyone was close and supported one another. Being an alumna of a school that grew so much over the past couple of years is something to be proud of. I can say that I was a part of it at some point. FIU Nursing holds a special case in my heart. It was the starting point of a lifelong career decision. They really taught us about how nursing was about the community and the patients.
