Florida International University College of Nursing was the only school in Florida that would accept foreign-educated physicians and help us find our way into the healthcare field. I studied medicine in another country but it was more person-to-person based. I connected with people and patients through nursing. The school was fast-paced and I enjoyed the fact that everybody was there to help each other advance. I learned to be conscious of other people's feelings and needs. I got a better feel of how the world works. The people I met, the friends that I made, and the experiences I went through, make me smile.
