I was born to Venezuelan parents in Boston, Massachusetts. I was raised in Venezuela, but I returned to the United States due to political problems in Venezuela. I came to Miami and enrolled in English classes for one year. Then, I worked full-time as a certified nursing assistant at Jackson Memorial Hospital while I attended nursing school at Florida International University. I worked as an intensive care unit nurse for three and a half years. Then, I became the Stroke Service coordinator for Jackson Memorial Hospital. I assisted in getting the institution certified as a primary and comprehensive Stroke Center. After six years of administrative duties, I decided to enroll in the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program at FIU. After completion, I switched gears and moved to cardiology. I completed a post-master certificate in December 2020. At the present time, I am working in the cardiology service at Jackson West Medical Center. I am also serving as a preceptor for other Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program students. I am very proud of my nursing career and successful professional trajectory.
