BSN '06

FIU Nursing had started a program for medical graduates to become an RN BSN in two years, and that attracted me. I could get into the hospital and the medical field quickly while I was studying for my medical exam here in the United States. I met a lot of people who were very helpful along the way. The teaching was direct and to the point, so I had to get higher grades than the normal nursing students to continue in the program. There wasn't any extra information that I didn't need. I was grateful for the opportunity because when I entered in 2006, FIU Nursing was the only university in the United States doing this type of program. I was fortunate to be here in Miami because people came from other parts of the United States just for this program. FIU Nursing permitted me to start working in the medical field, especially in the psychiatric field, and I have now been working in various psychiatric facilities.
