FIU Nursing had a campus in Broward, and it was convenient. I also heard good things about the school. It was maybe 25 minutes away from me, which was good. I knew that I wanted to be a nurse when I was 6 years old. My father was in and out of hospitals, and so my experience visiting him inspired me to pursue nursing. He's no longer with me and wasn't able to go to my graduation, but he was very proud. I went to school, worked full-time, and had four children. That was a major accomplishment for me. FIU Nursing opened up more doors for my career. I was a cancer survivor and ran a cancer support group at my hospital. I was also involved with a council during the night shift until the COVID-19 pandemic. FIU Nursing had a lot of opportunity, and I liked the program. I went to classes in person and enjoyed the interaction that I shared with my classmates and teachers.
