I was a foreign physician from Cuba, and I decided to become a nurse practitioner. FIU was the most beautiful school that I saw when I first arrived here. When I was passing through a street and saw the school, I said to my husband, 'I will go there, and I will graduate from FIU.' I met all of the requirements, and I didn't even consider another school. There were so many professors who were very helpful, and they were always pushing me to be the best. My professors always encouraged me to keep going despite the difficulties that I faced during my journey. I made friends during my time at FIU, and they are now my friends for life. I still work with my friends occasionally. I recently had a baby, and one of my best friends from FIU Nursing, who was on the adult track, was my OBGYN doctor.
