I moved in with my sister in South Florida, and I was looking into public nursing schools. I looked into FIU because the onboarding process there was very welcoming. I had been in and out of the hospital when I was younger, and the nurses made the biggest impact on me. I was terrified as a child going through that ordeal, and the nurses were very nice to me. I do the exact same thing today that those nurses did for me. Nursing school was a challenge, but I became an adult at FIU. I had a great support network, and my professors were very hands-on. Their doors were always open, and I could always talk to them. FIU was a great experience. Dr. Delgado and Arturo Gonzalez were great professors.
