FIU was a natural fit for me. I had worked with a professor there, so I already had that connection. I was able to attend with some friends and colleagues. I was very interested in high blood pressure and had the opportunity to work on a project with the American Heart Association. High blood pressure and its impact on education was part of my thesis for my master's program. The campus laid out well what I needed to be successful. I had a bachelor's degree in nursing and worked with some awesome professors. I worked as a research nurse at Broward Health Medical Center. FIU Nursing was my bridge to those career opportunities. I made friendships and connections with professors that lasted throughout the years. If I ever needed help, I could call and reach out to them. They were more than just professors; they took us on as members of their families. I would advise anyone looking to continue their education to choose Florida International University. They won't be disappointed.
