I'm a foreign medical graduate. I was unable to get into a residency program after coming here and passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination. I called FIU to ask about their Nursing Program. The person on the phone informed me of the Foreign Medical Graduate Program. He told me that would probably be more suitable for my medical background. That was a wonderful thing that happened to me at the right time. Dr. Framil had the biggest impact on me. She was always friendly and helpful. I still keep in touch with her. I learned a lot about nursing in the program. I learned more about patient care and interaction. Nurses are the backbone of the medical field, and the program gave me more appreciation for their work. It was a wonderful experience to see students like me trying to get somewhere in life. It was a blessing for all of us to get the opportunity to continue our medical careers. We really bonded, and I still keep in touch with them as well.
