I chose to go into nursing because my aunt was a nurse. It's also a very rewarding, caring, and nurturing profession. I liked the idea of helping people, and I liked to see people get better. I am a British-trained nurse, and I started my nursing in England. Then I went back to Jamaica to work for a while, and then I came to America. I stayed in New York for four years, and when I came to Florida, I needed to get my bachelor's degree. I chose FIU because it had a transitional program from RN to BSN. All of my professors were very good, and they were caring. They always asked me if I needed anything and how they could help me. I'm still in contact with a few of the girls I went to school with at FIU.
