I had a professor who helped me get started. I was at a point in my life where I was trying to figure out the best strategy to move forward, especially as a foreign physician. I became a nurse practitioner through FIU Nursing. My professors shaped my way of looking at nursing and how I valued the profession. One of my professors was like a role model to me. He was one of the smartest people I met in life. He was the professor who helped me through my first year. FIU Nursing was a supportive environment, and it was nice to attend a student-oriented university that took me into consideration. I had multiple opportunities for scholarships and was invested in the community.
