Yolanda D. Migrino (Azcuna)

BSN '78

I graduated as a nurse from the Philippines, and when I migrated here, I went back to school to get a bachelor's degree. I chose FIU to further my schooling. I went back in 1992 and finished in 1995 to be a nurse practitioner. I love to take care of people - I am compassionate, and that's why I chose nursing. I thank God for the strength He gave me and for guiding me on where to go. People in jail need somebody who was caring and compassionate. FIU helped shape me into who I am now. It was my foundation, and it encouraged me to grow and learn. I really appreciated the school - it was new at the time, and I was blessed to be there at that time.
