Clinical Education
Experience in a clinical setting is vital to the comprehensive learning process for all FIU Nursing students. As an FIU Graduate Nursing student, your knowledge base is further enhanced by working alongside top healthcare professionals to gain deeper understanding from their example and expertise.
Our designated clinical department assists students with one-on-one clinical placements.
We’ve cultivated strong partnerships with many area healthcare delivery facilities to give students in each of our nurse practitioner tracks the opportunity to enjoy flexible clinical experiences in a variety of clinical locations. Whether ambulatory or acute care settings, clinics and health centers, students work with preceptor nurse practitioners and physicians in general and specialty practices to complete the required clinical hours within their specialty scope of practice.

- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner 630
- Family Nurse Practitioner 770
- Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner 630
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 630
Clinical & Educator Placements: During education practicum students enjoy flexible clinical and classroom experiences working with nursing faculty and staff preceptors in nursing education programs and clinical agencies. Students will complete an additional 210 clinical hours of teaching strategies.
